We have established a tradition of excellence and high academic standards and we will work endlessly to retain our position as the leading high school in Baringo county. Our school has a strong 64 year history of providing high quality education to the Country and surrounding countries. Along with this sense of history, a sense of belonging and familiarity quickly develops. The parents, teachers and children have a strong community spirit and are committed to ensuring the school remains a happy and safe place for learning and growing.
Kapropita girl’s high school is one of the oldest schools in Baringo County. It was started as an intermediate school by the African Inland Mission on 16th March 1957.The official opening ceremony was presided over by Miss Yenish, the Director of the African women education in Kenya then. His Excellency the Second President of the republic of Kenya Daniel T. Arap Moi the then elected Member of the legislative council representing the Rift Valley interpreted the Director’s speech into a language that could be understood by the audience-(Kiswahili and or Kalenjin)
Present also in that occasion was the then District Education Officer-Moses Mudavadi (for the District Education Board schools in Baringo)
The student population was made up of 95 girls for three classes and the population has since grown to the current 845 girls.
Kapropita girls became a high school in 1965 being an AIC sponsored school which is built on strong Christian Foundation. The school was managed by the Mission from 1957 to 1970 when it was handed over to the government.
